Hi GJB Fans,

First, thank you so much for your help in raising travel money for my friend
JP Alessi from Irigny, France. I've collected $325 so far, just $675 to go
to reach the $1,000 needed. Remember, JP will be a guest sax player with the
GJB at the Great CT Trad Jazz Fest, July 25-27, and he has agreed to pay his
own travel expenses. In the mean time, he lost his day job and totaled his
car! Any amount will help, but for $50 or more, you'll get a recording of the
GJB at this year's Great CT Trad Jaz Fest. Please, send your check to me,
Fred Vigorito, 20 Ledgeview Lane, Guilford, CT 06437. Thank you!

Wednesday, June 18th, 7PM, The GJB with Ben Griffin (tromb, US Coast Guard),
Bob Price (bnjo), and Jane Campedelli will do a free concert at the Sherman
Green Gazebo in Fairfield. Bring chairs, blankets, food, drink, and enjoy some
great New Orleans Jazz under the stars.

Bill Logozzo's Heartbeat Jazz Band will be at Olivers in Essex on Thursday,
June 19th, 7-10PM, with Bob Price! They'll also be there on Thursday, July 3rd
with Skip Hughes. This is a great spot, nice casual atmosphere, and good food
at a reasonable price. Of course the music is hot hot hot! Dancing too!
Look for them at Olivers usually on the first Thursday of each month. Contact
Bill Logozzo at Bill at nutmegchrome.com or www.heartbeatjazzband.net for
information on the band and how to order CDs.

Scott Kahn (bass) is getting around. Look for him on:

Saturday, June 21 with Rockin Heartbeats at the Waterbury Elks, and Saturday,
June 28th, 8-12 at 95 Gathering, N. Colony Rd, Wallingford.

Essex Fire Department Parade Sunday June 22nd

The parade starts in Ivoryton center at 12:30, with Art Hovey's Sugarfoot
Youth Band providing some hot jazz, with a little help from Art Hovey, Russ
Whitman and Fred Vigorito. That's right, the old guys helping the young
guys/gals!

The Hot Steamed Jazz Festival, this month, wow! June 27, 28 and 29. The
Galvanized Jazz Band with Jane Campedelli, Craig Grant and Bob Price will be there
along with pianist Bob Seeley, Dan Levinson's Summa Cum Laude Orchestra, the
Jazz Jesters Novelty Orchestra with Jeff Hughes, the Wolverine Jazz Band, the
New York Stompers, pianist Olivier Lancelot, Art Hovey's Sugarfoot Youth Band,
Jeff Hughes and the Festival Allstars, the Rialto Rhythm Revellers, Dan
Levinson's Palomar Quartet, the Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band, and more, for another great
weekend of traditional jazz. For more information about the festival and to
order tickets, log on to www.hotsteamedjazz.com. If you would like to receive

Paris Washboard Coming to the USA!

They will be appearing at the Bickford Theatre in Morristown on Tuesday
evening, August 5 -- the day after the Wolverines, a world class Australian band,
play there. This exclusive East Coast stop is their first visit to the US in
two years. Given the plunging dollar and the escalating cost of flights,
future visits are in doubt, to say the least. The Bickford Box Office is at
(973) 971-3706, and they can supply further information and sell tickets over the
phone. Previous visits have resulted in sellouts, so order tickets ahead of
time. Daniel Barda, Alain Marquet and Gerrard Bagot will be on this trip,
but Louis Mazetier must fly directly to the Orange County Classic in Costa
Mesa, their ultimate destination this trip. The fabulous Jeff Barnhart will play
piano.

Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic, Nov 21-23, Clearwater Florida

We'll be there with Craig Grant, Jane Campedelli, and Bob Price, along with
24 other bands! This is one of the best Jazz Festival's in the world, so buy
your tickets now. Go to www.jazzclassic.net for details.
